This was a new technique for me. I’ve often admired plaid stamping on clean & simple cards but I lack the discipline (and the stamp) to do it. BUT – there was a video in the class I took that shows how to do this with masking paper and a few daubers. Oh, I was all over that! How hard could be, right?
Those that know me are looking at the nice straight lines and are already laughing 🙂
And yep, it took me three tries. Lines … must… be… straighter…
Then I stamped the sentiment too hard and got ink all over the card front, which I promptly masked with a circle and filled in with black pigment ink to cover my woes. I thought, that’s ok – I’ll just stamp a white sentiment over it and all will be right with the world.
You know, you really should wait for black pigment ink to dry if you’re going to layer more white pigment ink over it to heat emboss. I figured that out as soon as the powder hit the paper. Yep.
So the next day, I wiped off the embossing powder and redid it, and this time it worked out fine. Whew.
I though the sentiment was particularly fitting.
